Silver Torah Finials (Rimonim) from Yemen

Enrich the Great Book

רימוני תורה מכסף מתימן

Description

Pair of finials adorning the staves of the Torah scroll, called rimonim in allusion to pomegranates. Yemenite Jewish silversmiths, renowned masters of filigree and granulation, made them as fine pierced structures shaped like a tower or bulb, sometimes hung with small bells. The delicate silver-wire work is characteristic of Sanaa.
