Description
Ceremonial robe of the Bukharan Jewish bride, of velvet richly embroidered with gold thread, heir to the ceremonial embroidery of Central Asia. It was accompanied by a headdress, silver and gold jewellery and forehead bands. A centrepiece of the trousseau, this costume affirmed the opulence of the community's merchant families.
