Enrich the Great Bookטבעת אירוסין עם לוחית מפותחת, גרמניה
Description
Ring given at the betrothal (siblonot), whose bezel, sometimes hinged, bears a Hebrew inscription or an engraved plaque. Distinct from the actual wedding ring given under the huppah, it belonged to the gifts exchanged between families. Ashkenazi examples reflect the care devoted to the engagement phase.
