Description
Cylindrical case of silver filigree sheltering the Scroll of Esther, topped by a handle for unrolling the parchment. The twisted-wire and soldered-granule work is typical of the Jewish silversmiths of Yemen, the chief artisans of local silverware. The lid unscrews or hinges open for the reading of Purim.
