Industrial rattle of lithographed tin-plate in bright colors, with a ratchet mechanism and handle. Mass-produced by the toy factories of Central Europe, it often bore printed Purim scenes or Hebrew inscriptions. Inexpensive and loud, it equipped children to blot out Haman's name.
