Italian architectural-pediment silver Hanukkah lamp

Silver table lamp whose backplate imitates a Renaissance façade with columns, pediment and niches, sometimes peopled with biblical figures. The eight spouts align beneath the architecture and the shamash stands apart. Jewish and Christian silversmiths of Italy displayed here a refined classicizing taste characteristic of the peninsula.
