Description
Curtain of Moroccan synagogues made by specialized embroiderers, often in gold-thread couching on red or green velvet. The decoration combines horseshoe arches, flowering vases and stars in a Hispano-Moorish taste inherited from the Spanish exiles. A Hebrew dedicatory inscription and date run as a band, the borders enhanced with braid.
