תליון ילד 'בסיבה' עם סהר ואלמוג, מרוקו

Description

Small protective pendant attached to the child's garment or cap, combining silver, red coral beads and sometimes a tiny hamsa. Coral, reputed to ward off the evil eye, was especially favoured for infants. These popular amulets, made by Maghrebi Jewish silversmiths, accompanied the child through early infancy.
