Description
Marriage contract of India's Jewish communities, blending traditional Hebrew formulas with local decoration. Cochin ketubot feature lobed arches and brightly coloured flowers, sometimes papercut work; those of the Bene Israel reflect Anglo-Indian influence. The dowry and pledges follow the Sephardi usage transmitted by the merchants.
