Besamim implements from Hungary

Enrich the Great Book

כלי בשמים מהונגריה

Description

Hungarian communities produced spice boxes of great formal inventiveness — mills, locomotives, articulated flowers — while remaining faithful to the ritual function of Havdalah. They illustrate the adaptation of Jewish silverwork to nineteenth-century styles.
