Description
Protective silver hand whose palm often shows a fish, a symbol of fertility and warding off the evil eye, distinctive of Tunisian Judaism. Filigree and granulation adorn the fingers; it was hung at the doorway or on children's necks. Djerba and Tunis were major centres of this craft.
