Mohel's styptic powder flask (isfar), North Africa
Enrich the Great Bookבקבוקון אבקה עוצרת דם של המוהל, צפון אפריקה
Description
Small flask or box from the mohel's kit for the hemostatic powder (often herbal and alum-based) applied after circumcision. In the Maghreb these silver-filigree or set-glass containers accompanied the cushion and the child's linens. Their floral and hamsa decoration was as much about care as symbolic protection.
