Wall lamp of cast pewter with eight aligned fonts and an arched back, made by the pewterers of the Netherlands. The inexpensive material replaced silver in modest homes while imitating its forms. The back sometimes bears lions or a stamped medallion, a witness to the popular spread of the Hanukkah lamp.
