Galician silver bench Hanukkah lamp with backplate

Table Hanukkah lamp of repoussé and filigree silver, with a row of eight fonts and a backplate adorned with baroque scrolls, deer and birds. Workshops in Lemberg and Austro-Hungarian Galicia added a removable side shamash and sometimes drip-pans. The decoration blends Ashkenazi folk motifs with the ornamental vocabulary of Central Europe.
