Description

Wall lamp of repoussé copper with eight fonts and a back adorned with floral motifs, arcades and sometimes birds, in the style of the coppersmiths of Baghdad and Mosul. Copper, more accessible than silver, widely equipped Iraqi Jewish homes. Hung or set down, it perpetuated the festival's oil kindling.
