Description
Ark curtain of Yemenite synagogues, plainer than its Mediterranean counterparts, in a land where Jews lived under restrictions. Made of local fabrics, it is decorated with embroidered bands of geometric motifs and fine embroidery in colored or silver thread, sometimes assembled from several widths. A Hebrew inscription is sewn or embroidered onto it.
