Description
Ark curtain of Bohemian synagogues, a region of rich Jewish textile craft. On velvet, metallic-thread embroidery and appliqué deploy the two Temple columns, the Torah crown and flowering vases around a dated dedicatory cartouche. Often made from precious recycled fabrics, sometimes liturgical, and donated by a couple in memory of a relative.
