Description

Silver plaque or case worn by the Yemenite infant, engraved with verses, divine names and permuted letter-series. The filigree and granulation work, characteristic of Yemen's Jewish silversmiths, adds bells and beads. Attached to the child's cap or garment, the amulet guarded it from the evil eye during its first weeks.
