Description
Meditation plaque placed before the prayer leader, bearing the verse "I set the Lord before me." In Sephardi communities of the Ottoman Empire, some were made of engraved silver, organized around a menorah formed of Psalm 67 in micro-script, surrounded by divine names and protective verses. Hung or set up, it also served as an amulet for the place.
