Description
Chest to hold the linens and goods brought by the bride, in the manner of the Italian cassoni, adapted by Jewish families. The painted decoration could include Hebrew blessing inscriptions and family arms. The chest's contents, itemized in the ketubah, secured the wife's property rights.
