Description

Circular matzah cover of silk or satin, embroidered in gold thread with floral motifs, a star or a hamsa at the center. Made by Judeo-Maghrebi embroideresses of Algeria and Morocco, it covers the stack of matzot on the Seder plate. The decoration draws on the vocabulary of North African festive embroidery.
