Description
Rigid cylindrical case enclosing the Torah scroll according to the custom of Eastern communities, kept upright and opened like a book for reading. Persian examples have a wooden core entirely sheathed in silver plates engraved with scrolls, cypresses and inscribed cartouches. A crown and finials top the summit.
