Description

Double-edged blade, often with an engraved silver or ivory handle, used by the mohel for ritual circumcision (brit milah) on the eighth day. It is part of a set comprising dressings and vials.

Significance

It serves the fulfillment of the covenant of Abraham, one of the founding rites of belonging to the Jewish people.
