Description
Signet ring whose bezel holds a turquoise or carnelian intaglio engraved with the name and sometimes a verse in Hebrew, to be impressed in wax. Jewish engravers of Persia and Central Asia were sought after for such seals. An object at once personal, legal and talismanic.
