Description
Scroll of Esther housed in a turned ivory case with silver mounts, made in the Jewish communities of India (Cochin, Bombay, Baghdadis). The handle and chased silver rings carry floral motifs of Indian inspiration. The delicacy of the ivory reflects local craftsmanship placed in the service of the Purim liturgy.
