Description

Straight silver trumpet (hatzotzra) sounded by the priests to announce the sacrifices and gatherings at the Temple, depicted among the spoils on the Arch of Titus. The commandment for their making appears in the Book of Numbers.

Significance

It set the rhythm of the Temple service and symbolizes, along with the menorah, the sacred furnishings carried off by Rome.
