Jewish gold wedding ring with "mazal tov" inscription, Orient
Enrich the Great Bookטבעת נישואין יהודית מזהב עם כתובת "מזל טוב", המזרח
Description
Wedding ring bearing the Hebrew formula "mazal tov" ("good fortune") engraved inside or on the bezel. Unlike the architectural-bezel rings of Italy, these rings, widespread in the Orient, are sober and meant for daily wear. The husband's giving of the ring before witnesses legally seals the Jewish marriage.
