Description
Tefillin bag of the Babylonian community, in garnet velvet embroidered with metal spangles and purl forming scrolls and stars. The padded-satin embroidery is typical of Baghdadi Jewish trousseaux. The two boxes were placed in it each morning to be carried to synagogue.
