Description
Marriage contract of the Jews of Iraq, with careful calligraphy and decoration of arcades, flowers and micrographic inscriptions. Baghdad ketubot sometimes use papercutting and gilded borders. The community, one of the oldest in the diaspora, preserved here highly precise legal formulas proper to the Babylonian rite.
