Description
Scroll of Esther on parchment whose columns are framed by painted borders of flowers, birds, putti and Italianate arches. Some include medallions depicting the scenes of the narrative. The work of scribe-illuminators of the Italian communities, it illustrates the peninsular taste for the Purim scroll decorated like a luxury manuscript.
