Dayan (juge rabbinique) de la ville de Sefrou. Sous le règne du sultan Moulay el-Yazid (1790-1792), il fut emprisonné avec son collègue Rabbi Shlomo Abitbol, semble-t-il à la suite de fausses accusations du gouverneur Hajj Abed el-Kebir. De lourdes amendes leur furent imposées et ils ne furent libérés qu'après paiement.
