Ingénieur électricien juif italo-américain né à Bergame (Italie) en 1935, issu d'une famille juive italienne. Cofondateur de Qualcomm en 1985 et inventeur de l'algorithme de Viterbi (1967), largement utilisé en télécommunications numériques.
