Summoned for a supposed vaccination, the Jews of the city were locked in the synagogue without water or food, then taken in trucks to the Siemakivtsi forest and shot.
Horodenka, in eastern Galicia, sees its Jews summoned one day in December under the pretext of a vaccination, then locked in the synagogue before being led in columns to the pits dug near the village of Siemakowce. The execution lasts the entire day. The survivors are herded into a ghetto and deported the following spring.
