Monastyryshche, en Podolie, fut attaqué et ses maisons juives brûlées. Les habitants gagnèrent les bourgs voisins, où ils vécurent en réfugiés, entassés dans les synagogues et les maisons d'étude transformées en abris. Les comités de secours des grandes villes envoyèrent ce qu'ils purent, mais la région entière était dans le même état et les moyens manquaient partout. Monastyryshche fait partie des localités dont la communauté ne se reconstitua pas telle qu'elle était avant ces mois.
