Hadiatch, in the government of Poltava, was a site of Hassidic memory, where the founder of the Lubavitch movement rested and where pilgrims came to pay their respects. During the civil war, the community was plundered by the armed detachments that roamed the region, and several of its members were killed. The pilgrimage ceased with the war, and the years that followed prevented its resumption.
