The second great Haïdamak raid swept through Polish Ukraine from Podolia to Volhynia. Jewish towns and quarters were plundered along the entire route.
Between the two uprisings, the situation of the communities had not improved: the Polish Republic was increasingly weak, its troops increasingly scarce in the borderlands, and seigneurial authority was exercised only intermittently. Each raid left behind towns that were rebuilt more slowly than they were destroyed — until the uprising of the next generation, which would prove the deadliest.
