Black Death massacres in Thuringia
1349·Weimar
The toll is reproduced exactly as the source states it — never rounded, never added to another. Tolls overlap from one event to the next.
the community destroyed
The community of Weimar was destroyed during the Black Death.
The borough of the counts of Weimar-Orlamünde appears in the lists of Thuringian communities annihilated that year.
The community lived off lending to the farmers of the Ilm and to the merchants of the road. It disappeared with the wave, and the borough that became three centuries later the capital of German letters had no Judaism before the contemporary era.
