Érudit français, actif dans la première moitié du XIIe siècle, cité dans un commentaire anonyme aux Chroniques composé à Narbonne avant 1140 comme source d'explications verbales de plusieurs versets. Zunz l'identifie au poète liturgique qui composa des piyyoutim et des seliḥot signés de l'acrostiche « Isaac b. Samuel », et lui attribue aussi la paternité de quatorze tables calendaires portant le même nom.
