Grammairien hébreu de Tolède, actif vers 1070-90, cité par Abraham ibn Ezra parmi les premiers maîtres de la grammaire hébraïque. Selon Moïse ibn Ezra, il était issu d'une famille respectée de Tolède, s'établit ensuite à Séville et se consacra dans sa vieillesse à l'étude du droit religieux ; son style direct et concis contrastait avec un caractère irritable et une critique impitoyable envers ses prédécesseurs. Il écrivit exclusivement en arabe plusieurs traités de grammaire hébraïque, dont un ouvrage sur les verbes republié à Paris en 1879, ainsi qu'un commentaire biblique partiellement conservé.
