Nathan ben Moïse Hanovre est un historien, talmudiste et cabaliste d'origine russe, mort, selon Zunz, à Ungarisch-Brod, en Moravie, le 14 juillet 1663. Après avoir fui l'attaque cosaque de Zaslav, en Volhynie, il gagne Prague puis Venise, où il étudie la Cabale, avant de devenir rabbin de Jassy, en Moldavie. Il est surtout connu pour le Yewen Meṣoula (Venise, 1653), histoire des persécutions subies par les Juifs de Russie et de Pologne sous Bogdan Khmelnitsky en 1648 et 1649, plus tard traduite en allemand par Kayserling (Hanovre, 1863) ; il laisse aussi Ṭa'ame Sukkah (Amsterdam, 1652), et un dictionnaire polyglotte, Safa Berura (Prague, 1660).
