Zasław (now Iziaslav, Khmelnytsky oblast, Ukraine), a city in Volhynia, was home to a Jewish community attested since the 16th century, which played an important role in trade and regional fairs. During the Shoah, the community was annihilated by the Einsatzgruppen in 1942.
