Rabbin et auteur hongrois né à Ungvár vers 1800, mort dans cette ville le 30 juillet 1886. Après une carrière commerciale infructueuse, il accepte en 1830 le rabbinat de Brezovica, qu'il occupe jusqu'en 1849, puis devient dayan de sa ville natale jusqu'à sa mort ; il est délégué au congrès juif de Budapest en 1869. Auteur prolifique de droit rituel, il doit sa célébrité à son abrégé du Choulhan Aroukh, le « Ḳiẓẓur Shulḥan 'Aruk » (Varsovie, 1870), maintes fois réédité ; son petit-fils est Heinrich Brody.
