Rabbin de Narbonne actif à la fin du XIIIe siècle et sans doute jusque dans le XIVe, David ben Lévi est l'auteur du « Miktam », recueil important des décisions halakhiques du Talmud rangées dans l'ordre où elles y apparaissent, souvent cité dans l'« Orḥot Ḥayyim » d'Aaron ha-Kohen, le « Kol Bo » de David Aboudarham et le « Bet Yosef » de Joseph Caro ; des décisions signées de son nom figurent aussi dans les consultations de Salomon b. Adret. Correspondant d'Isaac b. Isaac de Chinon, qui le tenait pour son maître, il laisse une partie du « Miktam » et un fragment de son commentaire sur Alfassi conservés en manuscrit.
