Juif en vue de la principauté d'Orange, en Bourgogne, au début du XVIe siècle. Lorsqu'un décret de Philibert de Luxembourg, pris à Courthézon le 20 avril 1505, contraignit les Juifs à quitter Orange, un délai de quatre mois leur fut accordé pour y revenir sans toutefois pouvoir y passer la nuit ; Abraham de Baze et Johann Cohen furent chargés de veiller à la stricte application de cette mesure.
