Financier juif et grand rabbin d'Angleterre, né à York avant 1190 et mort après 1253, probablement fils de Josce de York, figure centrale du massacre de 1190. Nommé presbyter, c'est-à-dire grand rabbin des juifs d'Angleterre, en 1237, il fut soumis à de lourdes amendes et confia à Matthew Paris avoir versé au roi en tout 30 000 marcs d'argent et 200 d'or ; plusieurs sheṭarot relatifs à ses affaires subsistent, dont un entièrement de sa main.
