Ritualiste français issu d'une famille de lettrés de Narbonne, victime de l'expulsion des Juifs en 1306, il émigra à Majorque. Il y composa, avant 1327, un ouvrage rituel intitulé « Orḥot Ḥayyim », compilation de lois et de discussions talmudiques comportant aussi des chapitres éthiques et doctrinaux, dont un abrégé connu sous le nom de « Kol Bo » supplanta l'original dans l'usage courant.
