Bourg de Slovaquie méridionale (anciennement Fülek en Hongrie), Fiľakovo abritait une communauté juive d'expression hongroise attestée depuis le XVIIIe siècle, principalement active dans le commerce. La quasi-totalité de la communauté fut déportée et exterminée en 1944.
