Obernai (Oberehnheim), ville impériale d'Alsace, atteste une présence juive dès le XIVe siècle, période à laquelle des familles furent victimes des persécutions de la Peste Noire. Une communauté moderne s'y reconstitua aux XVIIIe–XIXe siècles, laissant une synagogue et des registres consistoriaux conservés aux archives du Bas-Rhin.
