Disciple d'Uri de Strelisk (« ha-Saraf »), il fonda dans les années 1820 une cour hassidique en Galicie orientale, à Stretyn, active jusqu'à la Shoah. Sa descendance donna les branches Stretyn-Zolkiew et Zidichov-Stretyn.
