Autorité publique indépendante chargée du patrimoine archéologique d'Israël, établie par la loi de 1989 (effective le 1er avril 1990) en remplacement du Département des antiquités. Elle réglemente fouilles et conservation, mène le Relevé archéologique d'Israël, gère le Musée Rockefeller et veille à l'application de la loi sur les antiquités.
